主要研究方向包括图学习、时空数据挖掘及面向自然科学的人工智能交叉研究（AI for Science）。近年来先后承担了国家重大科研仪器设备研制专项、中国科学院抢占科技制高点专项、中国科学院基础研究领域优秀青年团队和多项国家自然科学基金面上项目，以第一作者/通讯作者在人工智能相关领域的国际顶级学术会议及期刊共发表论文超过150篇，其中CCF A/JCR Q1类超过120篇。
